Privacy.
Short version: we collect your email when you ask us to, we use it to tell you about Beat The Boys, and we don't sell or share it for marketing by anyone else.
01Who we are
Beat The Boys is a global race series and creative collaboration between Mary McCarthy and Friday Night Lights.
The data controller for everything you submit through this website is Run Social Ltd, the company that operates Friday Night Lights (company number [company number], registered office [registered address]). When this policy says "we", "us" or "our", we mean Run Social Ltd.
02What we collect
From this site, we collect:
- Your email address, when you submit one of the signup forms (the general squad list, or a specific race's list).
- Basic technical information your browser sends automatically — IP address, device and browser type — which our hosting provider uses to keep the site running and protected from abuse.
We don't run third-party advertising trackers and we don't set behavioural cookies on this site.
03Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To email you about Beat The Boys — race drops, ticket releases, training stuff, the occasional update. Lawful basis: your consent, given when you submit the form.
- To keep the site working and safe — security, abuse prevention, basic operational logs from our hosting provider. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a functioning website.
- To meet legal obligations if we ever need to (for example, responding to a lawful request). Lawful basis: legal obligation.
04Who we share it with
We share your data only with the service providers we need to run the site:
- Netlify — hosts the site and processes the signup forms on our behalf.
- Google Fonts — serves the fonts you see on the page. Google may log your IP when your browser requests a font.
- An email service provider we use to send the updates you've signed up for.
Each of these is a data processor acting on our instructions. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
05How long we keep it
We keep your email on the squad list until you ask us to remove it, or until we decide a list has gone cold and clean it up. Operational logs from our hosting provider are kept for a short, rolling window for security and performance reasons.
06Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete your data, or restrict how we use it.
- Withdraw your consent at any time — every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
- Object to how we're using your data.
- Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we've got something wrong.
